our rhythm of worship and prayer

all the Sanctuary's outward-focused worship resources and creative evangelism expressions are fuelled by our community's vibrant prayer rhythm

Our rhythm currently runs three times a day every week day (at 9am, 1pm and 5pm) and is complemented by additional, extended evenings and nights of worship and prayer.

All of these times are different, drawing from a wide variety of approaches to worship and prayer. But all of them look outward, responding to aspects of God's character, the day's headlines and key justice and mission issues God lays on our hearts globally, nationally and locally.

The Sanctuary is currently in a period of transition. We're moving away from opening our prayer rhythm to everyone towards enabling these times to go deeper by limiting access to them to a core collective of committed pray-ers and creatives. Our experience is the deeper the prayer rhythm goes, the more fruitful it is for generating the worship resources and expressions of innovative evangelism that the Sanctuary has been called to create.

As part of this, we're also preparing to move the Sanctuary's prayer rhythm - and all the creative resourcing and evangelism work that comes out of it -  to a new base from 1 September 2017. This will be in a less public location, better suited to serving our community's core vision and purpose for the long-term, and releasing more capacity for our work.

Bookings of our existing centre at 6 Church Street, Ilkley - and public access to our prayer rhythm - have therefore now closed (as of 1 May 2017) to enable our core praying community to prepare for, and transition into, these changes over the coming months.

We're more passionate about Christians getting hold of the Sanctuary's vision for worship than we are about them joining in with our specific embodiment of it. We'd be excited to hear from people who are exploring different ways to express it.
